Founded by Nancy Rizk, The Hollywood Initiative was born out of personal experience and a profound desire to help others. In an exclusive interview, Nancy Rizk reflected on her own journey. “I started The Hollywood Initiative because of my own journey to L.A. When I first moved, no one was willing to help me navigate the industry—everyone seemed tight-lipped,” she shared. “I, like many others, got a gym membership and joined a studio, hoping to create a support network and figure things out on my own.” The initial excitement of pursuing her dreams transformed into a challenge, filled with obstacles, false promises, and a constant search for stability in an unfamiliar environment. As time passed, Nancy noticed a pattern of actors reaching out to her almost daily, curious about how she managed to navigate the complexities of moving to Los Angeles, securing a visa, finding representation, and ultimately establishing herself in a challenging industry. This outpouring of requests led her to reevaluate her experience; she posed an essential question: “If I could redo this journey, what kind of support would I want?”

The answer was the creation of The Hollywood Initiative’s 10-day program—a blueprint aimed at transforming the way actors approach their careers in Hollywood. “I wanted to create a true roadmap for actors, helping them build contacts, create a personalized career plan, and access the mentorship I lacked during my own journey,” she explains.

This program has evolved over the years, adapting to what actors truly need to succeed abroad. It’s designed to save them years of trial and error, providing a community and guidance to help them make strides with confidence. “My goal is to ensure that international actors don’t have to go it alone—that they have a tribe to lean on as they take on Los Angeles and beyond,” Nancy shares.
