August 15 New Music Release Anthony Jollett

Tony “Anthony” Jollett has spent years bringing stories to life on screen. Now, he is telling a different kind of story, through music. There are some creative people who seem to move through life with an instinct to create, regardless of the medium. Anthony Jollett is one of them. An actor, producer and entertainment executive with a growing body of film work, Anthony has built his career around storytelling, taking on roles in front of the camera while also working behind it to help bring meaningful projects to audiences. Now, he is stepping into music, revealing a side of himself that he says has always been there.
With the music release of “Music to the Sky“, Anthony recently released a new song, “Please Love You,” and is following it with “He Chose Love,” which is set for release on August 15. These songs introduce what promises to be an unexpectedly personal new chapter.
For Anthony, however, music is not something he suddenly discovered. In a recent interview, he explained that he has always been musical, although he never made the decision to pursue it professionally. It was more of an inner knowing, something that had always existed within him without necessarily needing to become a career. After years of acting, producing and filmmaking, he has finally decided to listen to that part of himself.
That decision feels especially significant because of the way Anthony approaches everything he does. He is known for throwing himself fully into his work, and his career reflects that willingness to take risks, explore different creative avenues and commit to projects that mean something to him. At Kantara Pictures, Anthony serves as COO and is described as a seasoned producer and accomplished actor whose creative vision and collaborative approach have been important to the company’s work, including Mean Time. His screen credits include Prey by Night, Arcane, Miseria, Lucky Zahra, Dead Money and a number of additional film projects in which he has worked as both actor and producer.

The sentiment behind the song “Please Love You” is simple but far from simplistic. Anthony has described what he wishes “Love, Pain, Happiness & Loss; all of which makes us whole (and it is very much US).” There is an honesty in that statement that says a great deal about the emotional territory he seems interested in exploring through music. Rather than separating the beautiful parts of life from the difficult ones, Anthony recognizes both as necessary pieces of the human experience and exerting love into the world.
Anthony has spoken about his passion for acting and the transformative experience of being able to step into another person’s skin. His interest in drama comes from that same emotional curiosity, the desire to understand people, what drives them and what they carry with them. His producing work has given him another way to pursue that interest, allowing him to help shape stories rather than simply perform within them.
Now, he is doing something even more direct. He is putting his own voice into the story. And Anthony has an extraordinary life from which to draw.

He grew up in Synanon, the California organization that began as a drug-rehabilitation community before becoming an increasingly authoritarian and abusive movement. Anthony’s younger brother, musician and author Mikel Jollett, later wrote extensively about their childhood in Synanon in his acclaimed memoir Hollywood Park. Mikel’s account brought international attention to the brothers’ remarkable early lives, including the circumstances surrounding their escape from the organization as children.
For Anthony, that history is one part of an unusually complicated life, but it is not the entirety of who he is. If anything, his path from that childhood to a career in film and now music makes his creative drive even more compelling. He has taken experiences that could have defined him and instead built a life centered on creating, performing and telling stories.

That perspective may also help explain why the title “He Chose Love” feels so meaningful.
Anthony is not presenting music simply as another career credential. He appears to be approaching it as an extension of something that has been inside him for years.
There is also something wonderfully fitting about an actor and producer making music about love. Anthony has spent his career immersed in the emotions of other characters and the stories of other people. With these songs, the distance is reduced. The audience gets an opportunity to hear what happens when the storyteller steps out from behind the story.
“Please Love You” begins that conversation.
“He Chose Love” continues it.
And together, the songs suggest that Anthony’s musical journey may be about more than simply releasing records. It may be about allowing another part of himself to finally take up space.

Anthony’s career has been built on the belief that stories matter. His life has given him more than most people could imagine to draw from. And a willingness to finally share a voice that, according to Anthony, has been there all along.
With “Please Love You” already introducing audiences to that voice and “He Chose Love” arriving August 15, Anthony Jollett may be entering one of the most personal and intriguing chapters of his creative career yet.
