Marla Aaron Wapner is an actress and comedian. She is known for her roles on top streaming channels, TV series, and Indie Films. Marla was featured for 5 seasons on “House of Cards,” starring Kevin Spacey, and co-starred in the HBO comedy “Veep” alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She can also be seen playing Crystal in the hit streaming drama “Hush.” Marla is also known for her work as a comedian and event host & emcee. She has performed on major stages and even co-hosted the 56th Annual Capital Emmy Awards! We had the chance to do an exclusive interview with Actress Marla Wapner. Read below for the latest and more!
Q & A with Marla Aaron Wapner
Q. Marla, you’ve starred in quality productions in the industry, what inspires you to be your best?
Marla Wapner – A: I always strive to give a memorable performance! And I truly enjoy working with accomplished directors who let me express my character, through bold, collaborative choices. Of course, I genuinely appreciate a well-written script. A talented cast. A well-funded production. A tight crew. (And yummy craft services!)
Q: Pilot season is coming up! If you would be cast in any TV-Series, which would it be and why?
Marla Wapner – A: Getting cast in a revival of SEINFELD would be a blast! I would play George Constanza’s wife. In the reboot, George is jealous, because the gang likes me more than him.
Q: Can you explain the start of the year so far, in one word?
Marla Wapner – A: White Lotus (Oops, that’s two words, isn’t it?)
Q: What would you say is your favorite thing about acting?
Marla Wapner – A: My favorite part is getting the call that I’ve been cast. It’s thrilling! Then being on set, and basking in the collective energy & creativity of others is awesome. It’s a joy to work with gifted, like-minded people. Of course, dressing up for a Red Carpet Premiere- replete with hair, make-up, and photo ops- is the icing on the cake! It’s always an exciting, rewarding experience that just never gets old!
Q: What are some recent or upcoming projects you can share with us?
Marla Wapner – A: I have a few fantastic projects coming up! The first is a hilarious Web series (with a cult-like following) that’s gearing up for Season 3. The award-winning comedy, TURF VALLEY, is available on YouTube

Next, I’ll be reprising my role as Mayor Merriweather, in the feature film CHRISTMAS COUPLES RETREAT. The family friendly Holiday sequel, CHRISTMAS COUPLES RETREAT 2 will shoot this December, where I’ll be working alongside John O’Hurley (J. Peterman) of Seinfeld fame.
Lastly, I’ve been cast in a popular show, on a streaming service that’s going into production for S3. I’m not at liberty to discuss it publicly, (the final announcement is still under wraps.) But Im super excited about it! …and if you buy me a few cocktails, I’ll likely spill the beans!
